The Corner Room

Our server was very friendly and provided directions to various places. I wish I had looked at his name. But if he is reading this post, it was The table for two women... One ordered the turkey dinner and I ordered salmon. The salmon was absolutely delicious. What I like the most was portion size was perfect. A great meal for a great price!

Great location for delicious american food. Food was so tasty. The staff was very helpful and observant. Bring your hunger - portions are generous. I can see why they have so many great reviews.

I love this restaurant!! An old-fashioned atmosphere with exceptional food. The Reuben sandwich is awesome! And another great thing is that its situated right on the corner of two streets so its neat to sit and watch people go by!

Fine spot for American food. got there near five, it wasn't very busy. the prices are fair for the quality of food.

An incredibly broad menu that will give everyone many, many options, enough to satisfy all at the table. The Corner Room has great food day and night and is a favorite of alumni who come back often. The waitstaff is young but very well-trained and always seem to be friendly and efficient.

Very busy on a Sunday morning after game day, but the wait was surprisingly reasonable. Brittany was our server and very nice. Fabulous breakfast buffet for great price!

The Corner Room has a special place in my heart :) I meet with one of my good friends here for breakfast on a regular basis and always get the early bird special (which I think is a great deal--eggs, home fries, and toast for a little over $3). Emma is one of the hostesses there and she is absolutely delightful--a sweet woman who I believe said she has been working there for about 50 years!Sit at a booth! It's nice watching people walk by :)

Good food, would definitely come back. Waitress was attentive, service and food were prompt.

Freshly squeezed OJ, perfectly grilled Canadian bacon, and granola and fruit yogurt parfait made me a happy Penn State mom. Brunch had something for everyone. Good prices and friendly waitstaff.

Ehh. You dont get fries with your burger unless you pay even more which is kind of ridiculous for the price or unless you get the most expensive burger which is like 14 dollars. The food was borderline bad but edible. No flavor really. Nothing impressive. Wouldnt go back.

Usual Sunday morning buffet and other items to order, all good. Very pleasant country atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. We'll be back.

They had amazing food! Not only that, our waiter was excellent. He was nice and efficient. The place was very clean. The burgers were the best. It seems like a friendly, homey place to go eat with friends and family. They had beautiful window seats as well. Honestly there are not enough words to say how great this place is.

Above average food and very reasonable prices. Also, great staff/service. The only reason why I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because the food quality is only good but not outstanding.

Came in for the Thursday burger specials. Food was amazing we had the MOS and portobello burger.Kudos to our server, Kaitlyn (if I remember correctly. She’s the petite and bubbly one) Skip the nachos though. Burgers are amazing. Taste portions price are on point. Glad we made it here

Quick and inexpensive, but there are many tastier options for food (whether you're talking breakfast or lunch) all around town. The convenience and price is a plus though.

Tom was our waiter and he was phenomenal. I like to ask a lot of things and for things to my waiters to see how much patience they have and Tom smiled genuinely every time I asked for water, spoon, fork, napkins, etc.Also, I was offered the normal menu and I told him I was there to eat pizza. He went and asked the chef if they were serving pizza. Two mins later he was offering us the pizza menu. The pizza took 10 mins to be cooked. Also, it was a good pizza. I am fonder of the NY style pizza but this was kind of a Chicago, soft and thick dough. It was really good regardless. I was quite impressed with the prices. They are low. The view is great as we sat in the “corner” of the Corner and I could see people walk. Fun!

Easily my favorite place in State College. Great food, drinks, environment and view.

Food was great! HIGHLY recommend the peanut butter cheeseburger - sounds super weird, but it is worth it.

Eating here is surprising. You walk in and you'll typically have to wait a while. However, no matter how long you wait,the service you get once you sit is the best I've had in state college. Despite it being extremely busy, the servers made it feel like it was empty. I got my drink and food ordered right away. The food was hot and well prepared (and obviously excellent) and the server was always there when you needed them, but didn't hover. Don't be intimidated by the long wait, you'll have a good time if you're patient.

It was my first visit in this Restaurant and service was great...my children wings was good but not really hot/spicy as I expected but I'll go back to visit again

The buffet was reasonable. The waffles and french toast, unfortunately, were not. Tasted old. Not even cold, but old.

One of my top places for tasty American food. Super savory. Had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. Prices are decent.

Great local place a nice downtown restaurant if you’re in town for the Penn State football games ever I would suggest trying the corner room.

Best Salmon I've had in a really long time!! Will go back again!!

Online menu is different than what is available in house so we went specifically for something we couldn't get. Also, my beer had black stuff floating in it. I'd be less upset about this if it could've been handled sooner. Server dropped off my food and left. Never returned until I had stacked my own plates and had to practically wave her down. Super disappointing. I am a server and a bartender and I've been in this business for almost 10 years and I've never been as annoyed as I was in this place. I never even got an apology for the floating black chips in my beer--and I had been drinking it quite a bit before I noticed it. I NEVER tip less than 20% and I walked out feeling like I overtipped at 11%. No sign of any managment or anyone other than the server and the host--who seen us sitting...waiting...and also continue to let me sit there for 20mins after I had been done. I will NEVER return, and as a server bartender....that means something.

Love the old fashioned classic ambience here, very nice young college staffers, cozy and clean even with full house of diners. The food is very tasty, great portion and very decent price. It's a pleasant experience in a cold snowy December winter.

This place has a great peanut butter and Bleu cheese burger. It's delicious. Food is simple, hot, and fairly cheap.

Wonderfully surprised! The food was...fantastic! And unique...Baja Salmon over a bed of couscous with the most delicious glaze of sweet and hot...but not too hot...yumminess. And if you want to hack the menu, ask for their amazing mac n cheese with chicken and buffalo sauce. You won't be disappointed! Our server was friendly and accommodating and eager to make our dinner experience the best ever. Prices are fair and reasonable and the portions are hearty. So...enjoy!

Nice place and staff, but food was not great and seemed overpriced

My top place for quality American food. Service is consistently good. The bill was appropriate for the quality.

Great resturant in State College. Reminded me alot of a diner, which I totally love. Staff was friendly. The booth seating was very private which was great too. Food fresh and delicious. Prices were decent.

Located in the hub of town. Parking is on the street and metered but inexpensive. Menu includes many options for bar-type food that was reasonably priced. The service was outstanding. Older decor and the restrooms are upstairs shared with another restaurant. Call ahead if you have a large party.

We eat hamburgers. Good flavor, and excellent service. However, I felt very heavy during the whole day. Didn't want to eat anything else until next day.

Food was disappointing. The Baja Salmon and the Hot Fudge Sundae. Service was good.

Fast service, good prices, good food for the type of restaurant, excellent dessert and they validate!! Glad we stopped in and will do so again when picking up/dropping off son at PSU.

Good food, good service but wasn't the best burger I've ever had and fries are ok.

We are at Spats are the Grille, and it was pretty good food, but not all amazing, and it really should be for the prices. There shouldn't be drinks for $14 and up, or a meal that's $37, unless it's amazing (we got the smaller portion and it was good enough, but not amazing). We used to live Spats for the tapas, and they still say they do tapas, but in reality it's just a small selection of appetizers that are not unique except for one plate of gator bites. We were hoping it would still feel like Spats, but it's just a very expensive adequate restaurant.

Nice place for a casual dinner. Delicious food and friendly waitstaff. Typically it is very busy, but we were able to be seated in 20 minutes even after a football game the last time my husband and I visited. Thanks for the nice experience!

Historical. The atmosphere lends itself to dressing up or going casual. Our server, Stephania, was phenomenal. Great menu, and our food was all cooked and served to order. Makes my short list in State College.
